My wife and I know Maldivian culture and language, so being in an island community was very enjoyable. Our host, Mohammed Zubair was attentive, intelligent and a respected leader in the community. As a marine biologist, it was sad to see multiple coral bleaching events had significantly reduced key corals. Still there were many tropical fish, turtles, rays. We did a few night snorkeling which we enjoyed.
